Sledding Trip

Darin, Frank, Debbie and the kids all went sledding at Bicentennial Park on a newly snowing Saturday morning. I wasn't there because I slept in. I have no one to blame but myself. Darin had tons of fun catching the action and posing some awesome shots. Darin is quite the photographer.

Darin capturing Bradley tossing a friendly snowball lovingly at his younger sister Teresa.

Rashad gracefully, powerfully taming the mountain. And yes, that was two different runs on two different tubes.

Ty, Rosalie and Marissa feeling confident enough to brave the mountain with sharp pointy objects in their hands. Huh. Dad supervises awesome.

Teresa is such a good friend to Darin and me. She is a wonderful babysitter and pretends to be interested enough in us to beg to come over to play with us.

Debbie making sure they put pants on the ground hog.

Hide the paste guys, Rashad looks hungry.

My Christmas Present from Darin

Thanks to Darin's generosity and Wal-Mart's always low prices, I received my first ever sewing machine after 29 years of life and 10 years of marriage. I've spent hours reading the machine manual to thread the thing, reading patterns and instructions, and finally trying my best to remember skills from a fourth grade 4H class.

After several calls to Mindy and Mom, I've learned many helpful hints to make sewing easier, and realized that 80% of sewing isn't sewing at all. It's cutting the pattern and then ironing and cutting the fabric.

I have thoroughly enjoyed sewing my first project: matching flannel pajamas for the family. Darin and the boys consist of black/grey/white camo and Rose and my pj's are purple/lilac/white camo. I have finished Rashad and Ty's, and now need to move on to Rosalie tomorrow.

Everyone will open their pj's on Valentine's Day (I can't wait for Easter. . .too far away).

Wish me luck. And thank goodness for Simplicity patterns!

New Moon Again

So I finally saw New Moon again, and I must say it is so much better than Twilight. I wanted to cry while Bella was in her depression. Jacob was so fun and exciting. Edward was so brooding, as we all love him to be. I cannot wait for Breaking Dawn to see what the director does with Renesme. I hope we see into the further into the future and see her happy and (finally) Jacob happy.

Ashton Idaho Snow Fun 2009

View of the Tetons from Uncle Dan's fields that were broken in by the Swanbeck's and Dixon's the day before with Grandpa Dixon's snowmobiles.

Aunt Danae and all the kids across the street in Ashton City Park. We love snowmobiling and tubing there, but especially had fun on the merry-go-round this year!

Danae's boys have grown up so quickly and into the handsomest of young men. They were a heaven send and played hours and hours with our boys!

The Dixon family with Holden crashing into us from behind. He didn't want to be left out of the picture!

After a weekend of unending fun and excitement the boys were awake for about 20 minutes until falling into conscientiousness on the drive to our hotel in Ontario, Oregon.

Our first Christmas with our Children!

Firstly the kids went over to a friends house and made gingerbread houses. It was tons of fun!

Then they decided to play "Nativity", if you couldn't guess Rashad is playing the role of baby Jesus, Ty is Joseph and Rosalie is Mary.

The morning of, Mom was so excited and peppy.

Santa decided to bring things to the kids that we could all participate in together. Ie an XBOX360 with guitar hero and various other games. And Rosalie got a beautiful doll house. We all opened a doll so that we can play together. I couldn't find a picture of Ty and his excited face in getting a Ken doll. ;)

Later that morning Deb and her family came over for a late breakfast and to open, what? More presents? The older kids loved playing guitar hero and other games on the XBOX.

Cousin Fun & Excitement

We made it home from our Tour de Washington in one piece, thanks for the prayers! The kids had a ton of fun with all of their newly acquainted cousins on the Kestner side and the Dixon side. Our new camera's battery died and we left the charger at home (of course). So I don't have many pictures in Vancouver, so Todd and Mindy: I want to see some!

David's daughter's have blossomed into. . .okay, they're hot, alright?!

Rashad and Kaytlynn get rascally!

Ty loved meeting cousin Korina.

It was definitely worth what little sanity I had left to decide to go 12 hours to meet the rest of the family and cousins in Washington. If you have any other pictures, please let me know and maybe email them to me. I'm sick that I don't have any pictures of my kids and Nin's kids, Todd's kids and Susie's kids. Hopefully you three will visit soon!
